Visual Examinations

The Rio Piedras Rotary Club in District 7000 of Rotary International in Puerto Rico, has a group of 35 Rotarians and RotaryAnns trained to perform visual examinations to students in elementary public schools, under the supervision of a pediatric ophthalmologist. In each school visited members of this group examine an average of 150 students. Special situations are referred to the ophthalmologist for review and, if the latter confirms the situation, then the cases are referred to the school social worker for follow up.
