The Public Image Resource Group's major task is to help Rotary Districts to increase awareness of Rotary's humanitarian work in all districts and enhance Rotary's consistent image through global programs.
Our Vision
The vision of the RI Public Image Resource Group is to create better recognition, appreciation and understanding of Rotary's humanitarian work in the world to enable Rotary districts and clubs to achieve their membership and service goals for present and future generations.
Mission
The groups mission is to enhance Rotary's public image by assisting districts and clubs to tell Rotary's success stories to all media, local government officials, communities, civic leaders and similar entities. The group shall consider and promote the RI Strategic Plan priorities of advancing the internal and external recognition and public image of RI.
Could you explain what are the Goals for Public Image Resource Group at this 2009-2010 year?
Our goals for 2009-10 are:
- Communicate with districts
Place special emphasis of Rotary's public image as the personal reasonability of EVERY Rotarian.- Promote RI resources and importance of public relations:
Public relations training should be conducted for clubs and districts- Support media outreach for PolioPlus and other Rotary humanitarian projects:
- Encourage all media outreach efforts for polio in each region.
- Support RI in effort to send a journalist from major media in each region to attend and publish stories on a polio NID.
- Gain media coverage for at least one Rotary humanitarian project in each district.
- Report success stories:
Each area should provide at least five (5) public relations success stories during the year.- Help to promote Rotary during the 23 February celebrations:
Support Rotary's efforts promote the organization around 23 Feb - Promote RI resources and importance of public relations:
What is this Internationally - light-up iconic buildings? and Tell us about the intention to contact every parliamentarian in the world asking them to help "End Polio Now ".
End polio campaign needs everyone on earth to support it. We would like to solicit attention of all opinion leaders and regulators through this light show in order to increase the awareness of Rotary's efforts in this project. This is meant to invite more support on the campaign as well as enhancing Rotary's image in our pilot program.
How can Districts and Clubs plan a big celebration for February 23rd (Paul Harris's birth date) on Tuesday in 2010? Do Rotarians can start working on this right away? Do we all have a vital part to play in this project, even Fellowships and RAGs?
Plan something in their community to increase awareness of Rotary's work on Eradicating Polio through events and media exposure. There are many ways to do it and should be decided by the Rotary Clubs on how to communicate this in their community.
At Rotarians On The Internet Fellowship there are Governors Elects and Governors Nominees (as well as PDGs and DGs) that would like to know about their future responsibility on Rotary Public Image work at their Districts. Could you share something about this?
Make good use of the Humanity in Motion CDs and promote the image of Rotary consistent with RIs Key Messages.
Finally Pauline, tell us about your professional activity and Compass's Mission ; which I think will help all of us, not just at our personal activities but at our Rotarian Ideal of Service Worldwide.
